Rebecca Cooper’s lifetime mission is to create resources and awareness of disordered eating. Her mother died of morbid obesity and Rebecca has 30+ years of recovery from disordered eating and eating disorders herself. She is a California Licensed Therapist, Professional Clinical Counselor, Certified Eating Disorder Specialist, and the Founder of Rebecca’s House Eating Disorder Treatment Programs, which started as the first transitional living residence for women recovering from eating disorders.
Since that time, Rebecca’s House Eating Disorder Treatment Programs™ located in Orange County, California provided all levels of care for the medically stable person suffering from binge eating disorder, bulimia, anorexia, compulsive overeating and food addictions. Ms. Cooper established a leading eating disorder expert team of psychologists, therapists, registered dietitians, exercise physiologist, psychiatrist, nurse practitioners, and a medical doctor to transform the lives of patients suffering from eating disorders.

Rebecca is the author of the book, Diets Don’t Work®, and the step-by-step program for disordered eating that is successfully being used by recovery homes, therapists, clients, and at Rebecca’s House Eating Disorder Treatment Programs in Southern California. Her book also has a Structured Workbook, on-line sessions, eBooks, and helpful PDF Downloads. She is the author of many published articles and she is the eating disorder, disordered eating, yo-yo dieting, and food addictions expert for various websites and blogs.

She was the 1st President of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals in Orange County, CA. She is currently an IAEDP approved Certified Eating Disorder Specialist Supervisor (CEDS-S). Ms. Cooper received her Master in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University. Rebecca also started a non-profit, Rebecca’s Eating Disorder Foundation, to help provide partial scholarships for patients who need eating disorder treatment, but are not able to get insurance benefits or other sources of help.
